Bio

Dréo

Audrey Lenoir is a natural singer, a pure and unadorned talent who knows how to express herself, in both her accuracy and sensitivity of interpretation, a scent of Amy Winehouse. A native of the north of France, Audrey Lenoir cut her musical teeth on stage, directly in contact with the public before entering the regional conservatory of Lille at the age of 30. Audrey now participates in numerous projects highlighting her eclecticism: a quartet in homage to Billie Holiday, whose vocal influence on Audrey is beyond a doubt. The Headshakers, a jazz funk group from Lille with whom she performs and recorded a track on their album featuring Fred Wesley and Russell Gunn. A collaboration with Lexi-T and Mystraw, both French Beat box champions. Her first group Old Chaps, a Jazz group, with which she performed for five years throughout Europe and England. In quintet with Michael Cheret around the saxophonist’s compositions and great Jazz standards. All these collaborations have forged Audrey Lenoir’s captivating musicality, inspiring her today to produce her own compositions through the album “Morning“.

History

Dréo in concert in Mouvaux (North of France)

The DRÉO project begins in January 2022, driven by singer Audrey Lenoir. The singer sets up a quartet and together, they arrange her songs and perform in Reunion Island, in concert cafés and performance halls. A first artist residency at EMA, Ecole des Musiques Actuelles, followed by a first recording session at Studio MDC Prod initially made it possible to record the 5-track EP. The Kabardock, legendary concert hall in Reunion Island, offers them a 30-minute showcase in front of professionals from the cultural sector. They then produce an EPK, aimed at presenting their project. In December 2022, Audrey produced a video for the title “Call my name”. The project was highlighted during a news appearance on the Réunion la Première TV channel in Sigrid Chane-Kaye-Bone’s cultural show, where the project was voted musical favorite.

In April 2023, Audrey Lenoir released her 5-track EP, available on YouTube (“Dréo music” channel) as well as on all the listening platforms: Spotify, Bandcamp, SoundCloud, Apple Music, Deezer… At the beginning of May 2023, a second residency took place at Léspas Leconte de Lisle in Saint-Paul. Six new compositions by the singer were added to the set: in-depth work takes place on the harmonies, the melodic and rhythmic arrangements and the vocal arrangements… A live recording takes place during the residency in collaboration with the Formidable(s), a team of videographers, and Cédric Corrieri on sound recording.

A medley video of 3 tracks was released in May 2024. This recording would be the occasion for an interview with Sigrid Chane-Kane-Bone on the Dréo project, an interview aired on Réunion la Première. Four new compositions are recorded at Studio MDC Prod, with a guest on the title “Right now”: the musician Christophe Zoogonès, flutist from Reunion. Certain titles from the album were selected by the “Artist Music Program” (AMP) to integrate into the music publishing catalogue of emerging artists established by André Manoukian. A residency took place in August 2024, at the Cité des Arts, for the preparation of the stage production – lighting… Today the group offers a live performance lasting one hour and a half: eleven original compositions as well as two arranged and revisited covers. The group is currently performing on the Reunion Island. The finalized album “Morning” has been released digitally and on CD in October 2024.
